Necro Soloing Guide 1-50 - Project 1999 Wiki (2024)

1-4

Depending on what you make my recommendation is the starting areas where you can farm a lot of decaying skeletons for Bone Chips, you will need these later so stock up early. I started in Steamfont Mountains, I spent my first 4 levels near the windmills killing ANYTHING that moved, with added emphasis on the skeletons I saw.

4-6

Steamfont Mountains - Kobolds in Steamfont, if you run to the Lesser Faydark zoneline and follow the left wall *facing the LFay zoneline* you will run into a large camp of kobolds. Breaking the camp is the hardest part, but once its broke you and your pet can solo these with relative ease. Was pretty good loot/cash.

Once I hit 6 I decided to make that big jump to Antonica, so I bought all my level 8 spells, and packed up and ran to Butcherblock Mountains to take the boat to Freeport.

In Nektulos Forest you can move beyond the "newb log", looking for bears, wolves and snakes and skeletons. The T intersection on the main path that heads to the Wizard Spires has a permanent bear spawn that I found a good spot to also catch skeletons and wandering bears. The area in the Southwest corner of zone has an area of high level A shadowed man but south of that is an area of bears and wolves as well.

6-8

East Commonlands - just west of the tunnel in the sand I spent the next two levels killing snakes and other assortment of things that conned dark blue. I cleared the undead ruins if there weren't any zombies or ghouls up. I also possibly recommend the undead runes in NRO. Its a four spawn, with a chance at a yellow zombie which you can handle with relative ease once the camp is broken.

(Lenglensou) The undead shrine near EC Zone or undead spawns at wizard spires in Nektulos Forest are great xp, safe single pulls with good spawn rates. Occasional Lesser Mummy spawn will require higher level assistance (just ask anyone who zones in to take it out for you and you are back to exping). Good until level 9. Kill bears during down time for the chance at a HQ Bear Pet for some spell $$.

8-10

Northern Desert of Ro - I hung out at the wizard port drop spot, and killed spiders, scarabs, snakes, basically anything that conned blue/white. You may still be able to eek out a level or two at the skeleton camps in NRO, but the xp isn't as nice.

10-12

Oasis of Marr / Northern Desert of Ro - Depending on how ambitious you are, you can move onto Oasis of Marr, the mobs con a little bit higher for better XP, but sometimes there are alot of people in Oasis, so limited caimen action. If oasis is full you can continue to kill spiders and what not at the wizzie drop spot.

12-17

Western Karana - Misty Storyswapper, she’s at the farm house near the zone to Qeynos Hills. She drops an instrument EVERY time which sells for a plat each and there's a merchant right behind the house that you can sell too. *I could sell there even with Bertoxx as my deity* (also as Innoruuk follower - Lenglensou). If you're ambitious you can kill the guard too, to double up the XP. This honestly is one of the best spots I've seen in the game, its VERY safe XP is 150% worth the run out there. It's now time to consider a steady diet of bards! See the 6-Minute Bard Diet for great xp and fast spawns.

17-21

Oasis of Marr - Deepwater Crocs/Caimens, and the occasional LB Croc, great solo XP, terrible loot. My alternate here is solo'ing orc highway. Watch out for A Orc Warrior, they hurt:). Better loot, riskier pulls.

(Lenglensou) If you're still in Western Karana from hunting Misty Storyswapper, A scarecrow is excellent hunting until 20.

21-24

Lake Rathetear - (Lenglensou) Two An Aviak Guard outside of The Arena. I was able to kill both, run oom, go afk med up, and rinse repeat, safe XP. If you get in trouble you can just zone, also they drop bronze, so good loot droppers. I'd recommend binding at the merchant in Lake Rathe so you can gate when you get weighted down.

21-31

North Karana - Cordelia Minster. She stands at the wizard spires in NK. She chain messes you (may have been removed? never happened while fear kiting - Lenglensou), but if you have your Allure of Death *hps to mana drain* it will break the mes. I found fear kiting her early on was the easiest way, until I got my 24 pet, but you can agro kite her as she just stands there anyways while you nuke. This camp in NK has become more fruitful, as I started killing the guards at the SK zone line as well as still killing Cordelia Minster, the only real problem is those guards have a LONG re-spawn time.

24-27

Western Karana - (Lenglensou) Barbarian Fishing Village (#13 on map). Three spawns: Lars McMannus spawns near the dock, Junth McMannus in the northern most house, and Mistrana Two Notes in the western most house. Lars and Junth are simple warriors, lvl 20 each. But Mistrana is level 25 and a bard, so be ready before pulling her. Big concern is the wandering Ulrich McMannus who is always patrolling the village and occasional Guard Donlan. Other two barbarians do not give xp.

26-29

(Missnecro) I hated doing the barbs above - so I ended up going to Qeynos Hills and camping Chanda Miller and Baobob Miller. Both of them spawn by the campfire by the SFG zoneline and can be pull from the fire without aggroing the guards. Both wander a bit - Chanda on a simple path over to a tree besides the Haunted Ruins (#2 on the map). I would typically start by pulling her over by the ruins, then make my way over to the fire to pull / wait for Baobob.

28-31+

Western Karana - (Lenglensou) Barbarian Fishing Village again. Now it's time for revenge on Ulrich McMannus. Be careful, SoW is highly recommended as he is an undercon who resists often. I came to WK just to do this camp and found I could sell to Analya down by the water (as a DE Necro). Her faction has not changed after killing Ulrich a number of times. Super handy for selling the weapons he drops.

29-34+

South Karana - (Missnecro) Treants in the north east corner of the zone. Highly contested camp, since the EXP and money are good. 4 minute spawn time. You can split the two without needing to screaming terror. Once one is down, start engaging the other with pet + fear. Med to the west of them, by the small trees (not on the hill). By the upper end (~32/33) I was only putting my drain DoT on them, and otherwise using my pet + nuking twice. They buff as soon as they spawn, so it's good to catch them right away.

North Karana - (Algea) [Guard Fredrick] AFK camp - 6 minutes spawn. Roams between the wizard towers at the South Karana zone line. Spawn is inside the Bridge watch tower. He's got a fair bit of HP, so you'll want all your DOTs on him. Is sometimes resistant, so start from a distance. Drops FS and a shield most of the time if not always. I fear kite him from the top of the wizard towers. Ok money (if you can hold enough), I get 5pp for the FS sword, and 1pp for the shield in SK at the Centaur Stables. I've never killed anything in SK except the gnolls and treants.

31-35

Southern Karana - Just outside of Splitpaw Lair there are three spires, with a total of 4 mobs near them, 1 has 2, the other 2 have one. Depending on your comfort level, you can kill the two 1 spawns, and avoid the two spawn, or you can kill the two spawn and 1 of the 1 spawns. 1% XP a kill, good loot finesteel, Split Paw Hide Gloves that sell for like 20-30pp, whips, etc etc. Great spot, just look out for the occasional pathing cyclops.

Western Karana - (Lenglensou) Continue with Ulrich McMannus. He gets considerably easier at 30, but is still dangerous and will get the best you without SoW once in awhile. I began killing Einhorst McMannus at 34 when he is yellow. Less resistance than Ulrich, killing both makes a great camp.

34-37+

East Commonlands - (Missnecro) I camped the rangers at spot 5 on the map. I've seen mention that the money here isn't great, but I was commonly getting at least 1 plat coin + potentially Fine Steel or a Longbow (which vendors for 3pp). Split the spawn with Screaming terror then fear kite without much worry. There is a Gypsy hut nearby, where you can sell in Skeleton form. The only downside is that Griffins will path over occasionally, but they never aggroed me near the tree on the south side of the hill. The Druids in WC are also great cash and EXP, and the guards in WC are good for just exp.

35-40+

Butcherblock Mountains - Den and friends (Kaladim Citizens). Depending on where is open, the dwarven females in the houses around BB are GREAT Xp and cash. Theres Den Ironblend on the road near the crossroads in BB. Theres also a house on the shoreline with 4 of them to kill. There's also 4 of them near the docks. The ones near the shoreline are the best, because theres a merchant right inside of the house, which you can sell too even though you’re killing dwarves.

Western Karana - (Lenglensou) Ulrich McMannus and Einhorst McMannus are still great. Einhorst is even at 35 and the two really made 35 seem quick. Once 36 Einhorst resists much less.

The Overthere - (Algea) AFK Camp, works best if you are also doing The New Worker quest for the OT Hammer (please note the hammer doesn't proc until lvl 50). There is a single A Sarnak berzerker that spawn at 1555 3555. This is just south of the evil outpost. About 15-20% will spawn a Sarnak knight. Here is the real fun of this AFK camp. About 20 seconds after spawn, the mob (berz or knight) will path north to the outpost wall, then east. Where it's killed by one of the gargoyles. So, if you can't take a knight, or you are busy and miss a spawn, wait about 9.5 minutes and it will spawn again right in front of you! I fear kite by pulling to the wall. If you want to make this an active camp, go ahead and pull extras. There are plenty to be had. I try to stick to succulents as they resist less than other things. I did all of 35-40 here and finished faction around the same time. The braids turn in is great exp on top of killing the mobs. Also, you can gate to the quest turn in location, sell the vendor trash, and make it back to your camp spot before the mob spawns again (pet lives through this also). The cash sucks, so safe everything and sell it for some gain.

29-40+

High Keep - (Rumzuck) I found High Keep to be an excellent zone for necros who do not care about their faction there. The experience is awesome. There are many guards and it is quite easy to solo these with the LVL 29 pet. With the LVL 34 pet (+mez/root), you can also break spawns with 2+ guards quite nicely. This is in my opinion a great place even up to level 40 (probably even up to level 50).

40-48

Rathe Mountains - (Lenglensou) Hill Giants are level 33-37. They are regularly camped, but each spawn is a 6min 40sec timer and great money and xp. Keep your eye on your spawn as Broog Bloodbeard can randomly spawn at any spawn point and is level 46 with higher resists and no different loot.

Lake Rathetear - (Lenglensou) The ogres huts at the Rathe Mountains zone line are non-social (single pulled), level 35 shaman. No loot.

40-44

Dreadlands - (Algea) Active Camp or AFK. West wall just South of the tunnel to the Lost Valley (around -420 5300). Sit up on the wall (nothing comes up here, so you can AFK the camp). Many mobs path below you. Just grab one and pull it up to fear kite. Pro tip, turn Pet Taunt OFF. Recall you pet when fear drops to get the mob back to you and away from adds. The PP is not great. Some low gems, ~1pp per mob, and flowers on the yeti's that stack and sell to vendors. I started getting some green mobs at 43, but not many.

40+

Lake Rathetear - (Lenglensou) #15 on map has two static NPC spawns Taia Lyfol a 37 paladin and Kanthurn a 37 rogue. Both on 6min 40sec timers. Fear kiting removes any of Taia's casting abilities.
